Wow what an amazing day! As you know we have been studying how Montana animals survive winter for our next IB Unit of Inquiry. Today we had seven adult volunteers guiding small groups in research on a particular animal. Each group of 3 had research materials consisting of books, fact sheets, suggested websites, and iPads to answer our burning question, "How does our animal survive winter?" Each group was given one of the following animals: black bear, whitetailed deer, snowy owl, lynx, meadow mouse, western toad, ladybug. We found the answer to our burning question and learned many interesting facts along the way. Check out the pictures of our kiddos and volunteers hard at work. All of our kiddos have made the leap into the literacy club. They have each published their very first book. Here is a picture of two of our cuties reading their books to each other. What a great first day back after a wonderfully long winter break. We made our January calendars so please check your kiddo's backpack. I would also like to welcome Miss Kiley, a UM student, observing and helping out in our kindergarten classroom.
