We began the day giving Marty Moose a hug while saying good morning to one another! Then we read the super hilarious book, Have You Ever Seen a Moose Taking a Bath. Mr. T noticed that the words in the book rhymed. Way to go Mr. T! Then we had a visit from the Specials teachers. They introduced themselves before having specials class tomorrow. After using the restrooms and practicing bathroom expectations we went out to the playground. We reviewed why it is important to stay on the playground, in the boundaries, some ways to be safe on the playground, and ways to be caring to ourselves and others while playing. Then they got some extra time to play. Lucky us! After recess we came into the classroom and had some much needed free choice play time. "Play is the highest expression of human development in childhood for it alone is the free expression of what is in a child's sole."-Friedrich Frobel.

Look at these adorable faces I got to see as I rounded the corner this morning. Although it was a half day of K we sure did get a lot done. We decorated our mailbox name tags, said good morning to one another, tried to listen to a song but the CD player wouldn't work (thank goodness your kiddos are so patient), we learned about bathroom expectations, then practiced those expectations! After which we went out on the playground to learn about boundaries and keeping ourselves safe. Then they got some much needed outside play time. I was so proud of these courageous kiddos. Many made it all the way to the top of the Space Net. After coming in and listening to Miss Bindergarten Gets Ready for Kindergarten we went down to the lunch room to learn how to go through the lunch line and lunch room expectations. Then we were ready to head home!
Boy is was a busy day. Tomorrow we will get some time in the classroom to explore and play... Hooray! |
