It may look like it was Where's Waldo in kindergarten but it was actually red day here at Lewis and Clark. Tomorrow is going to be just as great. Remember to wear yellow!!!

WOW... summer sure did fly by. I had a very busy summer getting ready for this school year. I started the week after school ended in June. I attended The Creative Pulse Grad School Program at the University of Montana. This was my second summer of attending this amazing program. After last summer I returned to complete a year long enrichment program where I worked with a group of 5th graders, that were my kindergarteners long ago, and turned our lunch room into a black and white photo art gallery. If you haven't seen their amazing work you should come check it out. During the five weeks of being in school this summer, I gained lots of great new ideas to incorporate into my classroom. This year I plan to work with my fellow kindergarten teacher, Melissa Cooper, to write a book/guide to integrating Creative Movement into the kindergarten classroom daily to boost student achievement. We sure do have our work cut out for us but we are greatly looking forward to it.
After meeting nearly all of my kinder kiddos I am super excited to get the year started. It is amazing to think that the babes I met at Kindegarten round up in May are now my big kid kindergarteners. Let the fun begin. See you all tomorrow! |
