It was a great day to wear yellow! We started the day learning how to be flexible. We had a bus safety presentation scheduled and it ended up not working out. We were able to go outside to learn about proper use of the Peace Path on the playground and had a little extra morning recess instead. Thankfully, our bus safety presentation is rescheduled for tomorrow. After recess we came in and made our September calendars. These are important as they have important dates and our Specials schedule. After lunch we read the book My New Yellow Shirt and created our first page for our color-a-day books we are making. And of course, some much needed center time. We were also very excited to have a third recess in the afternoon. Then we came back to class, had a banana for snack, packed up our things, and got ready for Specials. We went to the library to learn about library routines and expectations. We will be checking out books on Friday. It was a fantastic day in K. Don't forget it's blue day tomorrow.

I just came across this blog post from "Schoolhouse Diva" blog site. It is discussing the idea of Mindset. We have been doing some reading and discussing as a staff about mindset and how to teach kiddos how to have a growth mindset. Check it out by clicking on the link above.
We had an amazing day together. We were stuck inside due to the hazardous air quality. Being stuck inside was a blessing as we were able to stay inside and have some much needed exploration time in the classroom. We were so excited to get our hands on some of the kindergarten materials. We explored the block center, table blocks, pattern blocks, counting bears, puzzles, seashells, drawing materials, and books. Your kiddos were fantastic. After exploring we reflected on our time with the materials and made a list of things we did well during this time. Here is what your amazing kiddos came up with:
Here are a few pictures of that time today.
